The SCV Wine Classic is a unique and enjoyable event, drawing on the valley’s most affluent and influential residents, people who care about wine, fine dining and the cultural life of the community.

THE TASTING

  • Participating in this event will be about 60 wineries, each offering their latest releases.
  • Available for tasting will be vintage library wines such as Silver Oak, Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Joseph Phelps Insignia, Chateau Montelena, Kistler, Williams Selyem, Talley Vineyards, Chateau Beycheville and Ornellaia.
  • Twenty restaurants and food services will supply an assortment of cheeses, fruit and gourmet hors d’ouvres.
  • Live music will be provided by accomplished, professional musicians.
  • A wide selection of current and vintage wines will be offered during the silent auction.

WHO BENEFITS

Wineries, wine merchants, restaurants and caterers – all find this event to be an excellent marketing opportunity to promote their businesses. Local newspapers cover the event and give it widespread exposure, and the Wine Classic web site is updated frequently to advertise those wineries and restaurants that participate.

WHO ATTENDS

The event has grown immensely popular during the last several years and draws patrons and wine collectors from all over Southern California. All attendees will receive souvenir engraved wine glasses and food trays.

THE SCV YOUTH ORCHESTRA

The orchestra is a three-tiered instrumental educational program that provides a positive and creative outlet for hundreds of youngsters. The orchestra foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes to promote the advancement of music education.

YOUR PARTICIPATION

We encourage you to bring your label to pour. If you cannot send someone, you certainly may send your wines. Professionals from the wine marketing industry will pour and promote them. You may also consider a donation of one or more bottles for the auction, a gift certificate or a tour of your winery. Each winery will be provided a standard-sized table furnished with tablecloths, water, ice and wine-discard containers. Guests will be given a list of all wines, arranged by type and including their retail prices.

APPRECIATION DINNER

As a token of our gratitude, those who represent their restaurants and wineries will be provided a buffet dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. the day of the event. An orchestra chamber ensemble will entertain. We are aware of the many requests you receive for contributions to various events. With this in mind, the SCVYO Foundation Board of Directors is resolved to produce an evening of enjoyment that will reward your generosity and benefit your winery.
