The SCV Wine Classic has been a regional wine-tasting tradition for some 20 years, allowing wine aficionados to sample both new-release and vintage wines while helping to raise funds for the SCV Youth Orchestra. The event has traditionally attracted a wide variety of wines for tasting and purchase, as well as gourmet cuisine from some of the area's finest restaurants and caterers. Guests sample, mingle and socialize while listening to live orchestral music, and an impeccable array of rare and current wines, restaurant certificates and other desirable gift items are auctioned. The SCV Youth Orchestra is a three-tiered instrumental education program that was founded at CalArts in 1969 and moved to College of the Canyons in 1989. The Wine Classic is a key fundraiser for this organization, which provides a positive and creative outlet for hundreds of young musicians throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. The SCV Wine Classic is a charitable event benefiting the SCV Youth Orchestra and the Santa Clarita Symphony. Both groups are 501(C)(3) non-profit organizations; SCV Youth Orchestra Fed.
